Paracelsus (working title) is a twin-stick shooter set in a dark Renaissance world where you will tear the enemies to pieces with a shotgun while also creating your own abilities using alchemy!
In the XVI century the European continent has almost entirely been wiped out by a man-made plague that turned most of the population into hideous mutants. A hundred years later a handful of walled-up cities still stand as the last strongholds of the human civilisation. You play as an unnamed alchemist who contracted the plague despite being vaccinated for it like all other citizens of his city. The mutations have already begun and now you must find the cure which is located in the laboratory of Paracelsus - a legendary alchemist, who perished in the early days of the outbreak. Equipped with your old hunting shotgun, a plate armour and your knowledge of alchemy you venture forth into the heart of the Plague Lands!
- Mix various elements and reagents to create your own unique abilities, divided into three main groups: injections, grenades and explosive amalgams!
- Enemies consist of numerous kinds of chimeras, mutants, golems, elementals and homunculi with several bosses and mini-bosses.
- Levels are semi-open with lots of nooks and crannies. A lot of emphasis is being put on making the locations vertical and multilayered.
- The story will mostly be told through the protagonist’s journal and the diaries of Paracelsus.
